Water Quality Analysis

Environmental Laboratory

MPUD operates a water quality laboratory at the WWTF certified under the SWRCB Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP).  MPUD is able to perform most of the daily, weekly and monthly water quality monitoring for the public water and wastewater system in the MPUD Lab. The operation of the laboratory provides the operations staff to more efficiently monitor water quality and operational parameters for the water and wastewater treatment systems.

MPUD provides bacteriological analysis of drinking water for the public.  Water sampling bottles are available at the administrative office, 4992 7th Street, Mariposa.

As of March 15, 2024, the Laboratory will no longer provide nitrate analysis of drinking water to the public.

The Laboratory will continue to provide bacteria analysis of drinking water to the public.  The District is proposing a small fee increase in an effort to maintain the quality standards and scope of certification required by California ELAP and TNI Standards adopted in California, 2024. Any fee increases will be updated to this page when put into effect.
